Coursework

The Ed.D. in Professional Leadership offers an integrated curriculum that delves into four core areas: learning and teaching, research methods, leadership and management, and innovative uses of technology.

The specialization in Health Science Education allows students to tailor their skills to challenges they’re facing in the workplace. Learning together in a cohort, students problem-solve alongside fellow health care professionals and develop a lasting learning community. They also gain a holistic understanding of the complexities and nuances inherent in health sciences education thanks to interdisciplinary collaborations across the University of Houston — involving areas such as medicine, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, psychology and educational leadership. Students graduate prepared to navigate multifaceted challenges as effective, visionary leaders in health care.
