The College Success Program (CSP) for First Time Incoming Freshman (aka "FTIC") consists of a two-phase success program designed to help students navigate through the required CORE Curriculum, and improve their experience at UH. All UScholars FTIC's are automatically in the program and as UScholars students are required to complete the Core 1101 College Success course.  Students with declared majors can also enter the program by enrolling in Core 1101. The objective is to assist students during the transition from high school, to provide a support system that assists students in their adjustment to the demands of higher education, and to provide students with a smoother, more efficient path toward their degrees.

Besides FTIC students, the CSP serves several other populations, such as students transferring to UH from another institution (other than high school). Our transfer students are served by informative orientation sessions and targeted workshops to help them get familiar with the UH academic rigor, and to learn more about UH resources, activities, traditions, and spirit. CSP is also committed to assisting students that are considered at risk. These students may be struggling with academics, time management, personal situations, be on academic warning, or have been placed on suspension.

The program offers all students many benefits - such as a computer lab, one-on-one tutoring and peer mentoring, review sessions for most of the core classes, workshops, as well as scholarships.
