Anne Dayton
Director, Cougar Initiative to Engage

Anne Dayton serves as Director of the Cougar Initiative to Engage (CITE). Dr. Dayton has worked in research and program management positions at Rice University, where she led co-curricular learning programs, including internships in public policy research and service learning. She was responsible for designing assessment strategies for these experiential and engagement activities.

Dr. Dayton received her Ph.D. in 2009 from Rice University. Her dissertation focused on the depiction of upper- and middle-class women’s experience of service to working-class families in Victorian novels, guidebooks, and memoirs. She has taught courses in academic writing, British literature, and digital storytelling. She has a bachelor’s degree in history from Hamilton College.

Dr. Dayton also has substantial experience writing about and editing economic policy, particularly in the areas of development, entrepreneurship, and gender issues.

Christina Williams
Assessment & Evaluation Analyst, Cougar Initiative to Engage

Christina Williams serves as the Assessment & Evaluation Analyst for the Cougar Initiative to Engage program. For over 14 years, Christina has been a higher education professional with the University of Houston, University of Houston-Downtown, and the University of Colorado Denver. Her specializations include research and assessment, student success, academic advising, program development, leadership, and student advocacy.

Christina earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown and her M.A. in Sociology from the University of Clear Lake.

Christina also serves as faculty at Lone Star College and Houston Community College. Her course subjects include first year experience, sociology, marriage and family, and social problems.
