Congrats, Coogs! 

UHCOP Commencement Features 150 Pharm.D., Ph.D., and M.S. Program Graduates, Golden Cougar Honoree

May 10 — UH College of Pharmacy welcomed nearly 150 Pharm.D., Ph.D. and M.S. degree recipients into their respective profession, discipline or post-graduate area of specialization during the May 9 UH Commencement for the College of Pharmacy at Cullen Performance Hall. 

Among the graduates earning degrees during the 2018-19 academic year were 130 Pharm.D., eight Ph.D. degree, and seven M.S. degree recipients. This year's class also included 14 students graduating Summa Cum Laude (3.9-4.0 cumulative Grade Point Average), 12 graduated Magna Cum Laude (3.70-3.89 GPA), and 22 graduated Cum Laude (3.50-3.69 GPA).

In addition, the class included 36 members of the Rho Chi Society Pharmacy Honor Society and 16 members of the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society. 

The college also recognized its Golden Cougar alumni from the Pharmacy Class of 1968 on the 50th anniversary of their graduation: Linda Cox, James Deason, Larry Hintz, Philip Laurence and Bill Peace. 

The standard bearers for the ceremony were Agata Bachleda and Johnny Hoang, and classmate Ervin Goodrum delivered the Student's Response. The Honorable Andrew Z. Teoh bestowed greetings from the UH System Board of Regents.
