Financial Aid Options

Financial aid is generally classified, distinct from scholarships or work-study programs, as monetary assistance given to students on the basis of demonstrated financial need. Some financial aid is awarded to students by government aid programs, such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), while some is sought and borrowed by students themselves, such as student loans. The University of Houston offers a variety of financial aid options to students. For more information about financial aid opportunities, visit the financial aid page.

** Note: Especially when seeking University or federal aid, it is vital to apply for aid early (as soon as possible after January 1st).
