Graduate Financial Assistance

By pursuing a graduate program at the University of Houston College of Education, you’re investing in your future and expanding your opportunities. Planning early can help you make informed financial decisions and stay focused on your goals. In the College, we provide guidance to help you navigate scholarships, assistantships, federal aid and funding options. Explore the resources below to support your academic journey.

Step 1: Estimate Tuition Costs

  • Use the UH tuition calculator. Select “Education” for the college.
  • To estimate hours, each graduate course is typically 3 credit hours (part-time students generally take 6 hours and full-time students generally take 9 hours, but this can vary).
  • Review college fees and university fees.

Step 2: Apply for Federal Financial Aid

  • Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen.
  • UH’s school code is 003652.
  • Graduate students are considered “independent students” on the form.
  • Federal aid is only available for degree programs (certification-only or certificate programs are not eligible).
