Mr. Leigh Steinberg Speaks at HHP

Mr. Leigh Steinberg, one of the most successful sports agents of all time and the inspiration behind the movie ‘Jerry Maguire’ will speak to HHP students on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 11 a.m.-1 p.m in Garrison Gym Rm 205.

Often referred to as a “Super Agent” throughout his 30-year career, Mr. Steinberg has negotiated over $2 billion in contracts while representing more than 150 professional athletes, including the number one pick in the NFL draft an unprecedented eight times in conjunction with more than 60 first round picks. His clients have included Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Ben Roethlisberger, and Oscar de la Hoya. At one point in time he is said to have represented half of the starting quarterbacks in the NFL.

Mr Steinberg is on tour promoting his memoir, The Agent: My 40-Year Career Making Deals and Changing the Game. The book details his early days as a student leader at Berkeley, his illustrious rise into pro sports fame, his decades of industry dominance, and how he overcame a series of high-profile struggles to regain his sobriety and launch his comeback.

After Mr. Steinberg’s presentation, there will be a Q&A session and book signing for those interested, The event is free, but seating is limited to the first 160 people.
