Dr. Alastuey Wins Honor Award at TAHPERD Convention.

HHP Faculty Dr. Lisa Alastuey recently won the Honor Award from The Texas Association for Health, Physical Education Recreation, and Dance (TAHPERD). The award presented at TAHPERD's 90th Annual Convention in Dallas was in recognition of her excellence in teaching, contributions to research, professional literature and leadership in the professions of Health, Physical Education Recreation, and Dance.

The Honor Award is given to educators in Texas for their significant contributions to health education, physical education, recreation, and/or dance through one or more of the following: excellence in teaching; outstanding administrative achievement; significant contribution to researcher creative endeavors; leadership in professional organizations at state, district, and national levels to include TAHPERD; contribution to professional literature; and outstanding community service.

TAHPERD has previously honored Dr. Alastuey as Health Educator of the Year in the State of Texas in 2009.
