HHP Doctoral Students Win Awards

HHP doctoral students, Emily LaVoy and Marius Dettmer are the recipients of a Dissertation Completion Award from The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. The fellowships provide stipends of $20,000 to cover students’ expenses for up to a full academic year while they complete their dissertations.

The title of Emily LaVoy's dissertation is 'The effect of exercise on the expansion and function of tumor-specific T-cells' and the title of Marius Dettmer's  dissertation is 'Vibration of the foot sole as an intervention to improve older adults’ postural stability'. The competitive awards are given by the College of Liberal Arts to encourage timeliness in the completion of their doctorates.
